The June 2014 issue of DIVER magazine carries my trip report to Ambon Island. Part of the Maluku archipelago in the far eastern corner of Indonesia, over the past few years Ambon has been making a name for itself as a world class 'Muck Diving' location. Numerous dive sites offer access to an impressive list of critters including the much sort after Rhinopias. To get hold of a copy of the magazine visit: http://www.divernet.com/

My green turtle sunburst shot was selected as winner of the Photo of the Day contest on EarthShots.org for Friday 9th May 2014. The photo of a young green turtle was taken at Bird Island, Seychelles. It was late afternoon and I had been waiting for the turtle to rise to the surface for a breath of air. I positioned myself so that the turtle was in front of the sun to create the sunburst effect. A single strobe filled in the detail of the turtle. http://www.earthshots.org/ |
